Lyric helps out a great cause - Christopher Donovan Day School

Lyric's own Meredith Warren and Fred Van Magness joined a large team of volunteers helping to fix up the Christopher Donovan Day School on September 11, 2010.

The Christopher Donovan Day School is a non-profit facility in Wareham, Mass. that offers services to students in grades 1-6 who are unable to attend public schools due to disabilities like Autism. Services are currently provided on a tutorial basis, as the school is going through the process of being accredited by the Town of Wareham and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to offer full-day instruction.

The day school recently moved to a new facility, which was in need of repair.

Volunteers from the Lowe's Heroes Program and from around the community teamed up to help. Workers spent the day painting the outside of the building, replacing old windows, landscaping and building a new playground for the students to use. All of these improvements not only made the building more welcoming for students, but also safer and more functional.

You can find out more about the Christopher Donovan Day School (one of our non-profit public relations clients) at their Web site (designed and maintained by Lyric Consulting): http://www.christopherdonovancenter.com/. And, if you're able to, please do what you can to help out the school.
